The Plan Your Escape project took place from August 22-27 in Kézdivásárhely, Romania, with August 21 and 28 being travel days.

This time we did not choose the headquarters of our organization in Velke Kapušany, but Kézdivásárhely, located in Covasna, which is also rich in natural beauties related to the theme of the project. Organisations from Hungary, Spain, Romania and Slovakia took part in the youth exchange, with a total of 46 participants.

The participants were aged 15-19 years old, i.e. high school students, who are the most receptive to such programmes and since they attend school, it is also easiest to reach them on an organisational level.

The Plan Your Escape project reached out to young people who have grown up in a digital world and are particularly affected by digital fatigue. Many young people live in a world of screen and social media addiction, which often impacts on their mental health.

The aim of our project was to introduce young people to an ecological lifestyle. We showed them what elements make up a greener and more sustainable life: to use less chemical cleaning products at home, to look for alternatives instead of plastic products whose production puts as little strain on the environment as possible, to bake bread, rolls, baguettes and pastries at home with natural leaven, to garden, to compost, to grow vegetables and fruit at home (if there is a possibility to do so), to surround themselves with natural things, to make decorations from fruits picked in nature.
