Within the 2026 accreditation (project number: 2025-1-SK02-KA151-YOU-000299512), we implemented a youth exchange titled Inclusion Starts Where We Are. The project focused on inclusion and diversity, which are highly relevant and important topics in youth work today.
We can confidently say that this project also attracted great interest among young people. Participants especially appreciated the interactive programme, the open atmosphere, and the opportunity to share their experiences. The feedback received was very positive, which motivates us to continue organizing similar projects in the future.
The youth exchange took place from April 21 to 26, 2026, in Slovakia, bringing together young people from four countries: Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia.
The main aim of the project was to promote inclusion, tolerance, and mutual understanding among young people from different cultural backgrounds. The programme focused on developing empathy, openness, and the ability to work with diversity in society.
Objectives of the youth exchange:
- Promote inclusion and reduce prejudice
- Develop empathy and emotional intelligence
- Empower rural youth
- Raising awareness about discrimination and prejudice
- Strengthen intercultural understanding
During the programme, participants explored various important topics such as identity and emotions, acceptance and empathy, and bullying. The topic of bullying was addressed through video-making activities, allowing participants to express their thoughts and experiences creatively. They also discussed inequality and ways of addressing it through inclusive approaches.
The programme also included sports activities that promoted teamwork and social inclusion. All activities were carried out in international groups, helping participants get to know each other better and build new friendships.
The project showed that inclusion does not start somewhere far away – it starts within ourselves, in our attitudes, our behaviour, and our willingness to accept others as they are.
