ERASMUS+ YOUTH EXCHANGE – 2017-1-SK02-KA105-001319 – LIVE GREEN 2017

Our Live Green project with the Erasmus+ program was implemented in September from 11-17. 2017 in Veľké Kapušany.

Organizations from 4 countries, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia as the host country, joined the project. 46 young people from the aforementioned countries participated in the youth exchange.

The aim of the youth exchange was to highlight the importance of environmental protection, so that participants would reduce the use of chemicals and the amount of waste produced in households, and would prefer to use natural materials. Our activities led to recycling and the use of materials that were no longer needed.

During the 7 days we discussed the following topics:

– we mastered the technique of knitting from newspaper, folding flowers, creating picture frames
– participants in teams prepared various reusable items from waste through a creative workshop
– under the leadership of representatives of natural and organic cosmetics Soaphoria, we participated in a workshop where we learned how to make soaps easily, made sparkling bath balls that anyone can easily make at home, participated in the production of organic lip balms and body butters
– in small groups we got acquainted with the meaning of symbols on cosmetic products
– during a visit to the “Natural Garden” we learned about methods of growing vegetables and fruits without artificial and chemical substances, the composting process, we got advice on growing herbs, we tasted them
– we prepared face and hair masks from kitchen ingredients according to the instructions of the Polish organizer
– in smaller groups we thought about different topics: sustainable households, environmental friendliness, natural cleaning products and cosmetics, protecting our health with herbs
- in the evenings we organized international cultural meetings, where partner organizations introduced us to the country they come from, typical dishes, traditions, folk dances and music.

At the end of the project, as a result, we prepared an exhibition with which we would like to spread the mission and meaning of the project, motivate and encourage others to reduce waste production and to lead their lives “green.”
