Youth exchange called No Difference Between Us! took place between 14-18 October 2020 in Ve\u013ek\u00e9 Kapu\u0161any.
The participating youth came from Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Latvia and Slovakia. There were 7+1 participants from each country, 32 in total.
The main goal of the project was to overcome prejudice and reduce discrimination, increase mutual understanding and acceptance of social diversity.
The aim of our project was to try to fight prejudice, strengthen the relationship between different cultures and mutual understanding and acceptance.
The main goal of the project was to fight prejudice of young people and create a relationship with other cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topic of prejudice was proposed in the circle of young people while searching for inspiration for a new project. The issue of creating prejudices is one of the classic problems of today's society, but it has become even more important nowadays, and conflicts between individual nations and minorities have deepened. The members of our youth club also experience this issue firsthand, as they live with the Hungarian nationality as a minority in Slovakia and often encounter negative attitudes from their surroundings. As more and more refugees and migrants are coming to Europe today, intolerance is stronger than before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project objectives:
- to reduce prejudices
- to reduce prejudices of young people against minority groups
- to increase tolerance and solidarity among young people
- to reduce stereotypical thinking
- to popularize acceptability and multicolour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the target groups of the project was the residents of our region, whom we reached out to during an event organized in the streets of the city. They received more detailed information during the activity called \u201cGathering Handprints.\u201d The group we focused on was young people aged 13 to 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joint programmes and the time spent together with people from another nationality had several effects on the participants:
- social competences such as tolerance, solidarity, perceptual intelligence, recognition of differences, creative thinking and multiculturalism were developed
- the youth through their activity started to break down prejudices from their own side and from society
- the youth became much more tolerant and open
- the intercultural knowledge acquisition allowed them to get to know foreign cultures better, which made our youth more tolerant
- they became much more tolerant towards national minorities
- some programmes were devised precisely to break down prejudices
