Young people’s voices matter – let’s give their opinions a platform!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new youth participation project, Podcast for Youth – To Be Heard, implemented by Luminosus, n. o. with the support of the Erasmus+ programme.

Project ID: 2026-1-SK02-KA154-YOU-000394800 Project period: 1 September 2026 – 31 October 2027

The aim of our project is to create opportunities for young people in the Slovak-Hungarian border region to express themselves freely, share their ideas and actively participate in discussions about issues that affect them.

🎙️A podcast channel created by young people, for young people

One of the main activities of the project is to launch a podcast channel designed, developed and hosted by young people themselves. Participants will be able to choose topics that interest them, conduct interviews and discuss issues that truly matter to young people in their region.

The podcast will serve as an inclusive platform for young people who speak Slovak and Hungarian. Episodes will explore everyday challenges, issues affecting local communities, inspiring local initiatives and European opportunities such as the Erasmus+ programme.

Through this experience, participants will gain practical content-creation skills while developing their communication, creativity, critical thinking and digital competences.

💬Building dialogue between young people and decision-makers

Another key objective of the project is to bring young people and local and regional decision-makers closer together.

Young people living in our region often feel that they have limited opportunities to express their opinions and that there are not enough spaces where they can be genuinely heard. We want to change that!

Through the podcast, we will collect young people’s needs, ideas and concerns and create opportunities for these voices to reach decision-makers. Through interviews, personal stories and shared discussions, we aim to strengthen the connections between young people and their local communities.

We believe that young people should play an important role not only in shaping the future but also in decisions that affect their lives today.

🎧 Learning, gaining experience and international cooperation

The project includes two mobility activities during which participants will gain new knowledge, exchange experiences and learn from the good practices of their peers.

One of these mobilities will take place at Mustárház in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. There, young people will learn from their peers about podcast and radio programme production. They will get a first-hand look at how a radio studio operates, discover how radio programmes are recorded and explore the software used for recording, editing and post-production.

The knowledge and practical experience gained during the mobility will help participants create and manage their own podcast channel.

🌱 Opportunities for personal growth and active participation

In regions located far from capital cities, where young people often have fewer opportunities available to them, it is particularly important for them to recognise that their opinions matter, their ideas have value and they can initiate positive changes in their communities.

Through this project, we particularly want to support young people with fewer opportunities by helping them develop their skills, build self-confidence and become active, responsible citizens who embrace European values.

Podcast for Youth – To Be Heard is about much more than launching a podcast channel. We are building a community where young people listen to one another, ask questions, think critically, initiate dialogue and discover that their voices have the power to make a real difference.

Because every opinion matters, and every change begins with an idea that someone is willing to hear!
