The project called Vivid Variety of Value-based Volunteering was planned to increase volunteer engagement in V4 countries. It based on three essential pillars: a strong public reputation for volunteering, high rate of volunteers in the countries and empowered host organizations.
The project answers several challenges and expect the increasing number of volunteers including cross-border volunteering. More volunteers mean more problems solved at local level and more social participation across Europe.
Activities carried out during the project:
• Online kick off meeting
• In-person preparatory meeting in Kosice
• Transnational Volunteer Jamboree in Szeged
• Communication campaign of volunteers
• Development meeting of training designers in Ústí nad Labem
• Volunteer Management 3.0 international empowering workshop in Szeged
• Multiplication events in the partners’ countries
• Online evaluation meeting
In the first part of the project we focus on the volunteers giving them opportunities:
• for making connections to others from different countries
• for common learning to empower their skill in cross-border action
• for exchanging experiences and gather best practices.
The Transnational Volunteer Jamboree is a face-to-face meeting and learning space that aims to motivate volunteers and provide them with networking opportunities as well as information about the volunteering brand through infographics. Recognition of volunteer engagement helps to attract new people interested in volunteering and also reinforces volunteering's reputation in the community.
In the second part of the project we
• develop the staff of host organizations relating challenges
• take common steps for cross-border volunteering.
The volunteer coordinators strengthen their volunteer management skills containing standard and dynamical elements and giving special focus on safety, digital and inclusive dimension, mental support, sustainability, effective visibility.
The empowering process of both sides are developed parallel for the stronger outreach. The multiplication events and campaign joining to the UN International Volunteer Year can achieve even greater impact during and after the project.
